Wendy Bailey Morris

Wendy Bailey Morris, 50, West Scranton, passed away Friday morning in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after a brief illness.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Don and Peg Decker Bailey, West Scranton.   She was a 1989 graduate of West Scranton High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Scranton.  She was a lifelong member of the Jackson Street Baptist Church and was currently employed as the accounts payable/receivable administrator at the Phillip G. Ball Company, Clarks Summit.

Wendy enjoyed spending time with family at the beach and boardwalk in Ocean City, MD. She was a great cook and had a way of making holiday gatherings extra special with creations from her kitchen. Like many members of her family, she was also an excellent bowler and enjoyed participating in leagues with her friends at South Side Bowl.  Wendy was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, godmother and friend. Her passing created a void in many lives that will never be filled, but she will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Also surviving are her two beloved sons, Jonathan Morris and his companion, Paulina Victoria; and Jared Morris, both of West Scranton; brother, Don Bailey, and wife, Jocelyn, of Old Forge and their children, Catherine and Lincoln; aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Margaret and James Decker, paternal grandparents Elizabeth and Earl Bailey, and special grandparents Olivia and Sydney Lewis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday November 13th at 11am in the Jackson Street Baptist Church, 1206 Jackson Street, Scranton, by Rev. Dr. Elliott Cooke, pastor.

Friends may call Saturday morning from 10am until the time of the service at the church.

Interment, private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions be made in Wendy’s honor to the Jackson Street Baptist Church, Scranton.

Wendy was an amazing woman in every aspect of her life. We were blessed to have her serve as our accounts payable director for over 12 years. Janice, Marcus Geoffrey, and Max join me in saying thank you to her parents, Peggy and Don, and her sons, Jonathan and Jared for her exceptional service in helping us attain fast pay status in our fruit and vegetable distribution businesses. She will be sorely missed but forever appreciated as outstanding. May G-D bless the family and close friends. Based on the weather alone over the past few days, she is rolling all strikes in the big bowling tournament and chilling out at the beach.
