Dr. Alan Popick

Dr. Alan Popick, of Scranton, passed away on New Year’s Day at Regional hospital after fighting an illness.

My heart goes out to Carol and family. Allan was an amazing man. I remember our trips we took on cruise ships. The 4 of us enjoyed spending time together and on the many crazy excursions we took. One in particular stands out…the crazy trip to the volcano and mud bath. We had so much fun. Then came time to go wash off….the was quite the experience. Hey Carol remember the white water rafting in Jamaica. We were a crazy bunch. Remember the good times and the great family times. I send my love to all of you. Stay strong Carol. You are a strong woman..

It is with sadness that we acknowledge the Death of Alan. He was caring and kind to those he encountered. His skills as a physician were always on target and with good results. His later years in specializing in working with a special population added to his service to those he came to serve. Carol and the girls I know you will miss him, but the memories will wrap you in a life well served with you Carol, the children, and grandchildren

Dear Carol and your beautiful family. I was so so sorry to hear of the passing of Alan. We haven’t been in touch really for more years than I would like to admit. For your beautiful girls, I was a friend of your moms in high school in Brooklyn. I so fondly remember sleeping over and looking forward to the bagels and bacon your grandmother would make. Your mom and dad were truly high school sweethearts, and I am so happy they built such a beautiful life together. Carol, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. There really are no adequate words. I just want you to know I am thinking of you and sending as much healing energy as I can. ?

Alan was a good friend many years ago as we grew to adulthood. I am not surprised that he made a career of helping people. I know that the good memories will eventually cancel out the sadness we all feel now.

I met Alan in 1958 when I came to Brooklyn. We were close friends in the 60s for 12 years until we went our separate ways…Saw each other a few times after that. When I heard of his passing, all the memories of our Brooklyn boyhood flooded back- memories that will live forever – Afternoons in the park, Sunday afternoon football games, Mike and Carl’s, the Foster Deli, the Roach, Tuna on toast, the junction, movin’and groovin’, golf at Ft. Tilden, the stuff of life…the laughs, the friendship, the wild times..Condolences to Carol and Alan’s entire family…Be strong..
