Nicholas Michael Mattessich passed away peacefully on New Year’s Day in the Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness, with his family by his side.
Son of Carol Ann Franco Mattessich and Thomas Delmonico he was born in Torrejon, Spain on June 30, 1987. Nicholas was a resident of St Joseph’s Center in Scranton. He was of the Roman Catholic faith and a graduate of Wallenpaupack High School. Nick loved motorcycles, race cars and would be at the ready with a hearty laugh and enormous smile to all those who loved and cared for him.
Nicholas is survived by his sister Cara and brothers Joseph and Michael; Aunt’s Boof, Wendy. Linda and Dorothy, Uncle’s Eddie, Jimmy and John and his niece, Victoria. cousins and second cousins. As well as a loving extended family at St. Joseph’s Center most especially, Mary Wilding.
He was preceded by his maternal grandparents Edward and Sarah and his paternal grandparents Claire, John and Helen.
The family greatly appreciates the many thoughts and prayers, however, due to the current health crisis services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Thomas "Zeke" Delmonico
At this hard time it is important to remember that Nick is now at peace. His heavy lifting is over and he is with family on the other side. I am sure his grandmothers Sarah and Claire will be waiting with open arms, along with Big Daddy Franco.
Godspeed to you my son, let this chapter be the start of something fantastic for you.
Your mother and I plus many others will miss you.
You have more than earned your wings, it is time to fly.

Zeke,
I’m at a loss for words. We are thinking of you and your family at this time.
“May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand”
