Thomas M. Reap, Sr., 84, of Scranton, passed away Tuesday evening in the Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, following an illness. His wife of 50 years, Barbara Ann “Rusty” Schick – Reap passed away in 2009.
Born 1939 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Michael “Mickey” Reap and Irene Staples Barrett. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and attended Immaculate Conception Church. Thomas had been employed as a Pipe Fitter in Union 524.
Thomas enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing pool, and playing golf with his beloved wife “Rusty”. He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends at Crotti’s On Ash and The Glass Onion.
Surviving are his daughter Susan Reap and her companion David Chesko of Scranton; son Thomas M. Reap, Jr. of Virginia; sister Roberta Laney of Langhorne; brother Michael Reap of Scranton; grandchildren Megan Reap of West Virginia, Christopher Reap of Virginia, Amanda Johnson of Virginia, and Steven Matuska of Connecticut; 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Jean Marie Reap in 1961.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 2nd at 10:00am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave. Scranton
Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:00am until the time of Mass in the church.
Interment, Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore.
