Ross Thomas Herron
08/13/24
Ross Thomas Herron, 34, of Brooklyn, NY passed away Tuesday morning at Temple University Hospital Philadelphia surrounded by his loving family.
Ross loved life- and lived it to the fullest. He was always looking for adventure and looking for where life would take him next. Ross was an extremely talented artist and was always planning for his next tattoo. His favorite tattoo perhaps sums up Ross: “Laugh Now, Cry Later” a symbol meaning “Live today. Enjoy life RIGHT NOW! Because the future is never promised.”
Ross will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, remembered for his kindness and generosity. Ross’ final act of goodness took place in the early morning hours on the day he was called home to be with the Lord, as he gave quite literally of himself as an organ donor. Ross’ liver, kidneys and heart were given to save the lives of those who received his generous gift. His heart continues to beat- a reminder to all of us that his love continues on.
Surviving are Ross’ parents Ann Leggat and Thomas E. Herron; a sister Jessica Anne Herron Kehl and wife Sarah Bonser; brothers Kyle Herron and wife Amanda, Jack Herron and partner Kirsten Weidlich; nieces Alexandra Kehl Rudd and husband Christian, Victoria Kehl, Gabriella Kehl; a nephew Rowan Herron; and countless cousins including his beloved friend and cousin Joe Leggat.
Ross was preceded in death by his grandparents Alexander and Betty Leggat, and Jack and Jean Herron.
A Blessing Service will take place at Saints Francis and Clare Parish at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 3343 Greenwood Avenue, Moosic, PA on Sunday, September 15 at 6PM, the Right Reverend William A. Mentz, CSM, presiding. Friends may call from 5PM until the start of the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are in the care of Vanston and James Funeral Home, Ash Street, Scranton. To leave a memory of Ross, or to offer condolences to the family, please visit www.vanstonandjames.com
