Ann Marie McCool

Ann Marie Bianco McCool, 90, of Scranton, passed away following a brief illness on Monday, October 21-the date of her mother’s birthday to join her in heaven.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Angelo A. Bianco and the former Blanche Genello. She received her education at Dunmore High School, before her first job at Bell Telephone Company.  Ann Marie then worked for various companies in Englewood, NJ before returning to Scranton to work for Lackawanna County.

Ann Marie was a devout Roman Catholic and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish. She was also a member of The Friends of the Library, Scranton.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Yantorn; grandchildren David Bianco, Jr., Tina and Francesco Maceri; two great-grandchildren; brothers Joseph and Ernie Bianco; numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husbands Ralph Yantorn and Joseph McCool; a daughter Sharon Yantorn Maceri; and a son David Yantorn Bianco.

Those who knew Ann Marie will remember her as a loving and caring individual, devoted to her family and her faith. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Avenue, Scranton on Tuesday, October 29 at 10AM.  Friends may call from 9AM until the start of Mass.

Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Oram Street Scranton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ann Marie’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

    Ann Marie was a sweet woman and a devoted member of the board of directors of the Scranton Public Library. She will be missed. Our condolences go out to her family.
