Desie Cerato, Scranton, passed away Saturday in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness. Her husband of 56 years was Michael Cerato.
Desie was born September 16, 1946, in Manhattan, New York and was the daughter of the late John and Anna Mayo Bakas. She was a graduate of the Plains Memorial High School. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the former Service Merchandise Store.
Desie was a loving caretaker to her family. She was a devoted and steadfast Green Bay Packers fan. Desie will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Also surviving are daughters Brenda McGuire and her husband William and Michelle Hughes and her husband Todd; grandchildren Billy McGuire, Brianna McGuire and Lainey Hughes; sister Diane Beckett and her husband Ted; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Joseph Duca.
Services are private.
