Gerard John Coggins III

Gerard John Coggins III died of an undiagnosed illness January 3, 2025 in Fairfax Virginia. He was proceeded in death by his mother Yvonne Elizabeth Alu, His father Gerard John Coggins Jr, His maternal grandmother Mary E Littman, and grandfather John F Jennings Jr. and his paternal grandfather Gerard John Coggins Sr.
Gerard loved life and lived it to its fullest surrounded by friends and family. Gerard loved to cook, dance, and care for the people he held dear. He was a true jack of all trades recently opening a painting business with his best friend and having dreams of a food truck waiting in the wings. He was a loving and doting father to his two beautiful daughters Adelynn Elizabeth Coggins age 7 and Lilianna Rose Coggins age 3.
He is survived in death by his sister Megan Elizabeth Coggins, his paternal grandmother June Ellen Coggins. His aunts Tracy Truncali, Debbie Nystrand, Mary (Poppy) Blaker, and Nancy Riccardo. His Uncles John Mark Jennings, Richard Coggins, and Jeffery Coggins and his nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Jerry’s life on Friday, January 31st from 5-7pm in the Vanston & James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton, PA.
At 7pm there will be a Blessing Service officiated by Deacon Carmine Mendicino, Diocese of Scranton.
Jerry , Jerry bird, or Pumba as he was lovingly nicknamed was called home to god at the young age of 31 heaven must have needed some fun.
