William Ashman, 57, Old Forge, passed away suddenly at his home of natural causes.
Born November 10, 1967, in Scranton, he was the son of James John Ashman and the late Roylene Ruth Spathelf Ashman. Bill was a graduate of Pittson Area High School and went on to work for numerous years at Golden Technologies as an assembler in the framing department as well as the Cinram. He also spent time in the Army.
His proudest accomplishment was being a dad. He loved and cherished his only son. When Bill worked 12 hr shifts he made sure he spent his 4 days off with his son. He thought of his first girlfriend’s children as his own and kept their photos on the wall to this day.
Bill had a passion for baseball, collecting cards and being a coach. When he was younger he would bat a ball for the family dog to go fetch it in the backyard.
He had an infectious laugh that would captivate an entire room. He never went out to have a bad time. He loved making people laugh! If you needed Billy for anything he would help you without thinking twice. Billy was one of a kind and truly will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his father Bill is survived by his beloved son Jordan Joseph Ashman; sisters Judi, Jeanne and Donna; his brother James; nieces Shana, Ashley, and Cheyenne; nephew Andrew; great nieces Sumer, Sophie, and Halie-Jade; great nephew Nathan; cousins; countless friends who were blessed to have Bill in their lives.
A celebration of Bill’s life will take place on Monday January 20, 2025 from 5-7pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.
Interment, private and at the convenience of the family.
