Maryann Coyle

Maryann Coyle, a lifelong resident of Dunmore, passed away Thursday afternoon in the Regional Hospital of Scranton with her family by her side. Her husband is Richard Coyle, Sr. The couple would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 3rd.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Carmela DeQuinqua Jason and was a graduate of Dunmore High School and went on to work for many years at the former WEA/Cinram Manufacturing in Olyphant. After her retirement she worked part time at the Price Chopper in Dunmore. She was a member of the former Christ the King Parish and attended Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church.

Maryann was a loving and caring person. She always put others before herself. She loved and cared for her family deeply. She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind. Despite living in a home of New York Yankee fans, Maryann loved the Boston Red Sox and also the New York Jets.

Also surviving are her son Richard, Jr. and his wife Tammy; her precious grandchildren Richie, Madisyn and Michael; her sisters Sharon D’Ambrosia and her husband John of East Greenwich, RI; and Susan Safko of Moosic; brothers John Jason, Jr. of Dunmore and Paul Jason and his wife Diane of Wilkes-Barre Township; nephews and nieces Jason D’Ambrosia and his wife Monica, Lauren D’Ambrosia, Jacqueline Reuther and her husband Nick, Paul G. Jason, and Marissa Jason.

She was also preceded in death by her beloved son David in 2013 and her brother in law Robert Safko.

A Blessing Service will be held Wednesday evening at 6:30pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton by Rev. Jeffrey Tudgay.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday from 4pm until the time of the blessing service.

Maryann will be laid to rest in a private ceremony next to her son David in Dunmore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Scranton 332 Wheeler Ave, Scranton, PA 18510.
