Carol A. Fritch, 81, passed away peacefully on February 25,2025 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of John J. Fritch who died May 24,2023.
Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her son John, his wife Kathleen of Waverly Twp, her daughter Noelle, her husband James Marchese of Dunmore and her grandchildren Kelsie E. Fritch and Daniel J. Fritch. Her brother-in-law Frank Chesk of Endwell NY, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born on April 29, 1943 in Patterson NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Helen (Snyder) Klimach. She was a 1963 graduate of Scranton Technical High School where she met life long friends. Carol was known for being very kind to everyone that she met. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Carol was employed as a part time drive thru bank teller for almost 30 years. Initially it was First of Jermyn Bank, then First Liberty Bank and lastly Community Bank, NA due to mergers. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband John, sister Barbara and brother-in-law Frank to various locations in the cold winter months.
Carol loved her family the most, especially her grandchildren. She loved her daily walks at the Viewmont Mall with her daughter Noelle. She also enjoyed meeting her dear friends for regular lunch and dinner gatherings. Carol had a knack for maintaining life long friendships with Delores and Ann Marie that started back in grade school . To know her was to love her, she had a smile that would light up the room.
In her free time, she was an avid reader and enjoyed doing word search puzzles and planting flowers around her yard in the summer months.
Carol was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Chesk in 2020.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Tuesday March 4, 2025 at Vanston & James Funeral Home,1401 Ash St, Scranton, PA 18510 from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm.
Interment will be conducted at Evergreen Cemetery, Dickson City, PA at a later date and will be private at the discretion of the family.
