Dana Kristine Smithers, age 45, of
Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, was reported
missing May 28, 2022, her official date of
passing is April 27, 2023.
Dana was born on
September 5, 1976. She is survived by her
three children who she loved fiercely Ryan
Smithers, Paige A Grim, and Penelope
Michele Grim, as well as her cherished
grandchildren, Astrid and Parker. Dana is
also survived by her mother, Lynn Smithers,
her sister Stacey A Smithers (Stephen),
Breanne Furino, Ryan’s fiancé, and Dana’s
partner in life Joseph Grim.
Dana’s father, Thomas E Smithers, and her
dear friend, Theresa DeHaven, preceded her
in death. She attended Stroudsburg High
School and found joy in her work at the
Santa Set during Christmas at the mall.
However, Dana’s most important role was
being a Stay-at-home mom.
In her free time, Dana enjoyed traveling,
camping, beach outings, and shopping. Her
favorite pastimes included family vacations in
Rehobeth Beach and the traditional Memorial
Day trip to Knoebel’s to kick off the Summer
Season. Dana will be remembered by her
family and friend’s for her infectious laugh
and her love of life.
The cremation of Dana Kristine Smithers has
been performed by the Vanston and James
Funeral Home in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
There will be no services at this time. The
family has asked to be allowed to grieve in a
way that honors Dana’s memory privately.
