Joan Nolan, a resident of the Hill Section of Scranton, died Saturday in the Kindred Hospital at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after an illness. Her husband and dedicated caregiver for the past 11 years during her numerous illnesses is Joseph Nolan. The couple would have been married 52 years on October 3 of this year.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Genevieve Connolly Healey. She attended Scranton public schools and graduated from the former Scranton Central High School. She also attended the Lackawanna Business College. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She had been employed by Bell Telephone.
She was a very family oriented person. She loved nothing more than watching movies and spending time with her grandson Danny. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.
Also surviving is her loving daughter and caregiver Nancy Piazza and her husband Anthony; a grandson Danny all of Scranton.
Preceded in death by a brother Eugene Healey.
Anyone planning on attending the funeral is asked to go directly to the church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11am in the Immaculate Conception Church 801 Taylor Ave.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St Scranton.
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
