Dorothy V. Kintzer, 98, Scranton, died Wednesday evening in the Green Ridge Health Care Center after an illness. She was the widow of John S. Kintzer died in 1991.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Margaret Morgan Von Bergen. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She was a 50 year member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of the Scranton Century Club, the Welsh Women’s Society, a former board member of the Scranton Day Nursery, the Rotary Anns and a former long term treasurer of the Lake Ariel Cottagers Association. She served for many years as a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 101 which met at the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three sons Dr. John S. Kintzer and his wife Antonia of Bethlehem, Robert W. Kintzer and his wife Kathleen of Dunmore and Donald J Kintzer and wife Karyn of Orinda, Ca.; eight grandchildren John, Megan L., Robert W., Jr., Scott H., Sara E., Bradley T., Geoffrey M. Kintzer and Kristen K. Slawson; three great grandchildren; a bother Robert Von Bergen of Clarks Summit; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister Alice Von Bergen Walsh.
A memorial service will be held Saturday April 28th at 11am in the Covenant Presbyterian Church 550 Madison Ave. Scranton.
Interment will be private in St. John’s Cemetery, Wernersville, Pa.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund 816 Olive St. Scranton 18510.
