Leslie Edward Williams, Sr. of Scranton died peacefully Sunday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. His wife is the former Nancy Zimmerman.
Born in Scranton, son of the late David and Dorothy Williams, he was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical School and had been employed at Thomson Consumer Electronics for 24 years.
He is also survived by sons Leslie Edward, Jr. and his wife Sarah, Michael David, and Matthew Leslie all of Scranton; brothers Herman Eugene Claus and his wife Ann Marie and David Russell Williams and his wife Judy all of Scranton; several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Also pets Ellie, Willie and grand puppy Mandie.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St. Scranton
A blessing service will be held at 7pm.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
In lieu of flowers the family strongly encourages memorial contributions may be made to The Auxiliary at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Leslie’s name for the ICU for the wonderful care given to Les and his family during his stay. My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Williams family. Les fought a very tough battle and I am sure the love and support he received from you all helped sustain him in his fight. Les was indeed one of a kind. I hope your getting the concert of your dreams now.
