Frank S. Mellert of Dunmore died suddenly Thursday morning at home. His wife of 46 years is the former Ann Rizzo.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Frank W. and Myrna Leader Mellert and his step-mother Mildred Sebring, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. He had worked as a data processing analyst for Northeastern Bank, Emery Worldwide Freight, and retired from Nabisco.
He was a two time Past Master of Union Lodge # 291 F.A.& M. He and his devoted wife prepared the meals for the Lodge meetings for many years. He enjoyed restoring and rebuilding cars. He loved his family and his dog Doug and will be dearly missed by them.
Also surviving are a daughter Amy Skvasik and her husband Jim of Sugar Run; a son Frank J. and his companion Nancy Demario of Carbondale; and an Aunt Betty Saylor of Arizona.
Funeral Services will be Monday at 10:00am in the Vanston & James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.
Friends may call Sunday from 2:00-5:00pm with Masonic Services to beĀ held at 4:30pm.
Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.

Sorry to hear of Frank’s passing. He was a good and dedicated worker while I knew him at Nabisco. May the good Lord wrap His arms around all his family and friends and give them peace and blessings.

My good friend Frank’s dad, what a great man, he got me through my Masonic degrees, and he will soon be strolling through the pearly gates in those red sneakers. He will always live in the memories of the many lives he touched. Condolences to the Mellert family.
