Michael R. Lehnert, 60, of Lake Winola, died Thursday morning at the Allied Hospice unit in Scranton. His loving wife of 34 years is Terri Ace-Lehnert.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Audrey Kazmierski Lehnert and the late Frank Lehnert. He was a 1978 graduate of Abington Heights High School and has been employed as a mason for Michael Paolucci Masonry and Custom Homes for over 40 years.
Michael was a compassionate and humble man. Making other people smile always brought joy to him. He was happiest when making his wife laugh and whenever he had the opportunity to spend time with his beloved grandchildren. He was a wonderful father who took great pride in his family. Mike worked hard his whole life and was a skilled craftsman. He wasn’t satisfied until whatever project he was working on was perfect and no projects were left unfinished. Through all of the hard times he never complained once, and was always more concerned about the people around him. Those who knew Mike, loved Mike.
Also surviving are two sons Shane C. Ace, Philadelphia; and Anthony J. Lehnert, Lake Winola; three sisters Andrea Gates and her husband Richard, Maryland; Susan Burke and her husband Gerard, Clarks Summit; and Carol Shallberg and her husband David, New Hampshire; three brothers Joseph Lehnert and his wife Christine, Quakertown; Frank Lehnert and his wife Linda, Clarks Summit; and Robert Lehnert and his wife Laura, Wilkes Barre; and two grandchildren Evan and Stella Ace.
A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 10am from the Church of St. Benedict, 1849 Newton Ransom Blvd. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411 with services by Monsignor Joseph Quinn, Pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 9am until time of service at the church. All CDC and State guidelines will be strictly enforced, including the mandatory use of facial coverings and proper social distancing.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St. Scranton, and under the direction of Henry A. Sobolak III, F.D.
Memorials may be made to Wyoming County Cancer Society, 8 Ironwood St. Tunkhannock Pa. 18657 or the Lake Winola Park and Trail at Overfield Township, 775 Lower Mill City Rd. Dalton Pa 18414.
