Robert F. Nealis

Robert F Nealis, Scranton, passed away Wednesday afternoon in the Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness.


Born 1952 in Scranton he was the son of the late Joseph and Kathlyn Evans Nealis.  Educated in Scranton schools, Bob went on to graduate from the former Scranton Technical High School and the Johnson School where he learned the trade of being a machinist. Prior to his retirement he had worked in the Community Medical Center in the maintenance department.


Surviving are brothers Joseph Nealis and his wife, Theresa  and Charles Nealis and his wife Ethel;  a sister, Kathy Strach and her husband, Larry; nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Nealis.  


 Private graveside services will be held in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.


In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions to be made to Davita Commonwealth Dialysis 920 S Washington Ave Scranton PA 18505 or to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter 967 Griffin Pond Rd S. Abington Twp PA 18411


Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.

      Cathy, Thank you for your thoughts on Bob. He sure was a lot of fun and always made us laugh. I’m sure we’ll all remember him as always making us laugh and having good times together. I miss him a lot. He was such a good person. Thank you again Cathy. Kathy(Nealis) Strach.

      Danny, Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. You were always good to Bob. He called you and you were always there for him . We always had a good time when you came to the house or met you out. I hope you are doing well yourself. I miss Bob a lot. He made me laugh so much. I said to him what am I going to do without you making me laugh. He said don’t worry I’ll still make you laugh.
      Whenever I think of some things he said I still laugh. That’s hou he would want it.
