Lana Mae Sherman

Lana Mae Sherman, 82, a lifelong resident of the West Mountain Section of Scranton passed away in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after being stricken ill.  Her loving family was by her side.

Born 1941 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George “Dutch” and Emma M. Hall Sherman.  She was a graduate of West Scranton High School and went on to have a long and wonderful career at AkzoNobel Salt Company as an executive. 

Lana enjoyed Bingo, going to the casino, line dancing and bus trips with her friends.  She will be missed by those who were blessed to have known her.

Also surviving are her sister Judy Saita and her husband Joseph; her brother Carl Sherman; nieces and nephews Terri Wert and her husband Dave, Cindy Bartels and her husband Billy and Rich Sherman and his wife Michelle; Patricia and Joseph Saita; great nieces and nephews Aireyal Cortese and her husband Jason, Shane Purdy and his wife Nina; Noelle Purdy, Destiny and Jesse Saita and Molly Sherman; great great nephews Leo Purdy and Owen Cortese.

She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law JoAnne Sherman.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton

Friends may call Sunday from 2pm until the time of the service in the funeral home.

Private interment, Washburn Street Cemetery.

    Sorry for your loss…prayers for the families.
    I remember going upstairs to visit with my Grandma and Lana a few times.
    Always a great visit.
