Rosina E. DeBiase

Rosina E. DeBiase, 90, Bunker Hill, passed away Thursday afternoon in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit with her family by her side. She was the widow of Patrick L. DeBiase who died in 2016. The couple was married on September 10, 1955.

Rosina was very proud of her Irish heritage and was born in Ballynahinch, County Down, Ireland, into a large Irish family and was the daughter of the late John and Emily Morgan Harte. She was educated in Ireland prior to immigrating to the United States. She was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Church Parish Community. Prior to her retirement she had been employed by Aramark in Scranton.

Surviving are her daughter Angela Collins and her husband Al of Dunmore; sons Frank DeBiase and his wife Renee of Chesterfield, MI, and John DeBiase of Scranton; grandchildren Patrick DeBiase, Ashley DeBiase, Kelly Raicu and her husband Cat; a brother Thomas Harte of Canada; sister-in-law Anne Harte of Massachusetts, several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by brothers Jack, Ted, Que, Jim, Robert and Matt and her sister Mary.

The family wishes to thank the many caregivers from Geisinger At Home, Allied Palliative Care, and the Hospice of The Sacred Heart for the wonderful care they provided. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave. Scranton by Rev. Jeffrey Tudgay, pastor.

Friends may call from 10am until the time of Mass in the church.

Interment, St. Michael’s Cemetery, Dunmore.

    She was one of the most kindest people I ever met!
