Dora Morcinek, 88, Scranton, passed away Tuesday morning in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit after an illness. Her husband is Jan Morcinek.
Born March 26, 1935 in Lima, Peru she was raised as Dora Elva Ramirez Fonesca. Dora had a deep faith and would attend Mass regularly and was associated with the Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Scranton. She had been the owner of the Tavern on the Top before retirement.
Surviving are a sister Gladys Ramirez Fat and a brother Carlos Aponte; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by sisters Olga Sandoval and Chbella Ramirez.
A blessing service will be held Saturday at 2pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St officiated by Rev. Alfredo Rosario Paulino, Assistant pastor of the St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish.
Friends may call Saturday from noon until the time of the blessing service in the funeral home.
Interment, with her family members in Peru.
