Elizabeth O’Hara Kane, Moosic Lakes, died Monday morning at home following an illness. Her husband of 45 years was the late Frank T. Kane, DDS who passed away in 1993.
Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late George V and Cecelia Brady O’Hara. She was a graduate of Marywood Seminary and Marywood College. She was a member of St. Eulalia’s Church. Throughout her adult life she was a member of various organizations. Her participation included Past President of the Sant’ Andrea Society, member of the Moosic Lakes Womens’ Club, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Marywood Seminary Alumnae Association, Marywood College Alumnae Association, member of the Marywood Seminary Mothers’ Club, the Scranton Prep Mothers’ Club and a supporter and volunteer of St Mary of Mt Carmel Grade School.
She was an avid Bridge player and a member of several bridge clubs.
The family would like to thank doctors Christian Adonizio, Patrick Conaboy, Kevin Corcoran, Terrance Lenahan and David Fitzpatrick for their compassionate care.
Surviving are children Mary Kane of Dunmore, Frank Kane and his wife Laila of Moosic Lakes, Jean Kilcullen and her husband Peter of Dunmore, Betsy Hill and her husband John with whom Betty resided, John Kane and his wife Kim of Concord, North Carolina, Bill Kane and his wife Pam of Clarks Summit, Kate Kane and her partner Leonora Dascole of Lindenhurst, NY and Celia Kane and her husband Kevin Corcoran, Chenango Forks, NY; grandchildren Patrick and his wife Amy, Jeffrey, Frank and his wife Sarah Sweeney, Conor, Celia, and Katherine Kilcullen, Tim, Julia and Molly Kane, Drew and Ryan Kane, Anna, Elizabeth and Jack Worobey; great grandchildren Colin, Reghan and Ava Sweeney; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by siblings George O’Hara, Jean Lynett, Jack O’Hara, Cecil O’Hara and William O’Hara.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00am in St. Eulalia’s Church 214 Blue Shutters Rd. Roaring Brook Twp., PA 18444
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8pm in the church.
Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
