Ruth Phillips, 92, West Scranton, died Saturday at the Mountain View Care Center. Her husband was Russell Phillips who died in 1970.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mabel Jones. Prior to retirement she had been employed by the Williams candy Company. She attended the Bethel Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Mountain View Care Center for the care and the kindness given to their mother.
Surviving are two daughters Lois and Gary Durkin and Linda and John Capalongo all of Scranton; three grandsons Neil Jopchak and Chris, Phillip Jopchak and Sean Rogers; several nieces.
She was preceded in death by a great grandson Tyler Jopchak.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11am in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St Scranton with services by Rev. Joseph Santos, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm.
Interment, Milwaukee Cemetery.
