Robert W. Guse, Sr.

Robert W. Guse, Sr., Roaring Brook Twp., passed away Tuesday afternoon at the Mt. View Care Center after an illness. His wife of 60 years is the former Ellen Graham.
Born 1930 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Paul and Helen Daenmark Guse and attended the former Scranton Technical High School. He was of the Protestant faith. He had been employed by the Lackawanna Railroad and retired from the Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company. Bob was a member of Moscow Lodge F & AM 504 and also served in the United States Navy Reserve.
Also surviving are children Barbara Hijazi and her husband Dr. Saadeddine, Robert Guse, Denise Eiden and her husband Jim, Maury Ellen Guse, Allison Carling and her husband John, Kristine McGuigan and her husband Robert, John Robert Guse and his wife Paula; a sister Louise Jones; brothers Paul, Edward and Donald Guse; twenty five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by sisters Ruth Hawk and Helen Granahan; brothers Harold and Charles Guse; and daughter in law Barbara Guse.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11am in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton with services by Rev. Betty Reilly.
Friends may call Saturday morning from 10am until time of service.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
