Ann Marie Kincel

Ann Marie Kincel, Roaring Brook Township, passed away early Monday morning in the Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness. Her husband was Karl J. Kincel, Jr., who perished May 5, 2007.

Born in 1938 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Leo P., Sr. and Lillian Vanston Higgins and received her education in the former Saint Ann’s Monastery School. Ann Marie worked for thirty-seven years as the bookkeeper for Kincel & Company Insurance. She was a long-standing member of St. Eulalia’s Parish, Elmhurst.

Surviving are sons: Karl J. Kincel, III of Roaring Brook Township and  his companion, Kimberly Potorski, Kevin J. Kincel and his wife Helana of Jefferson Township, Kurt J. Kincel, Sr. and his wife Michelle of Jefferson Township, and Kenneth J. Kincel, Sr. and his wife Susan of Madison Township; daughters: Kathleen Jeffery and her husband Scott of Emerson, New Jersey and Kristine Hanlon and her husband Sean of Roaring Brook Township; grandchildren: Kayla, Karl V, and Kamryn Kincel; Katrina, Alissa, and Chelsea Kincel and her fiancé Walter Bosquez; Kara Fox and her husband Kyle, Kaitlyn Kincel and her partner Jordan Galasso, Kurt Kincel, Jr. and his wife Emily, Kelsi Reagan and her husband Ron, Jr., and Kerrigan Kincel and her fiancé Jacob Willette; Kenneth, Jr. and Kohl Kincel; Emily Hanlon and her companion Christopher Golding; brother: John Higgins and his companion Ann Kevra; great-grandchildren: Kyle, Kallen, and Kaci Marie Fox; Kurt Anthony, Rory, Emmett, and Nora Jane Kincel; and many nieces and nephews. 

The family extends a special thank you to Dottie Osborne for her friendship and diligent care during the past year.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson Karl J Kincel, IV and a brother Leo P. Higgins, Jr.

For anyone fortunate to get to know her, they will recall Ann Marie with esteem. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:30 AM in Saint Eulalia Church, 214 Blue Shutters Road, Elmhurst Township, PA 18444.  

Friends may call Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass in the church.

The location of interment is Saint Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.

Arrangements are entrusted to and under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.
