S. Ann Richardson

S. Ann Richardson, S. Abington Twp, formerly of West Scranton, passed away on New Year’s Eve in the Abington Manor Nursing Home.  She was the widow of Robert A. Richardson who passed away in 1988.

Born 1933 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jesse Hill Peters and was a graduate of the former Scranton Central High School, class of 1951.  She was a member of the Elm Park United Methodist Church.  Ann had been employed as a receptionist for the VNA Hospice for many years.

Surviving are daughters Lynn Fry of S. Abington Twp and Lori Fiorelli of Susquehanna County; son Robert Richardson and his wife Edie of S. Abington Twp; grandchildren Jason, Ryan, Eric, Kayla, Mark and Louie; great grandchildren Ava and Jake; a sister Lucille Johnston of Scranton; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by daughters Sandra McElreath and Susan Semon; son in law Randy Fry; sisters Lois Phillips and Jean Shields.

A celebration of Ann’s life will be held Friday at 6pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St.

Friends may call Friday from 4pm until the time of the service in the funeral home.

Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery.
