Kenneth G. Davis

Kenneth G. Davis, West Scranton and Lake Sheridan, passed away Wednesday evening at home after an illness. His wife is the former Dorothy Brown. The couple had been married 64years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Palmer and Elizabeth Clark Davis. He attended West Scranton High School and was a member of the Jackson St. Baptist Church, West Scranton. Prior to his retirement he had been employed by the Scranton City Fire Department for 18 years, retiring in 1982. Ken was a life member of the Fleetville Volunteer Fire Company, he was a former assistant scout master with Troop 30 Trinity Congregational United Church of Christ, the Firemens Union as well as a former member of the Welsh Society.
The family would like to thank Drs. Montella and Getz and the nurses of Celtic Hospice and the Moses Taylor Home Health Care for the care they showed to Ken.
Surviving are daughters Linda West and her husband Thomas of Scranton and Barbara Kalaus and her husband Neil of Factoryville; sons Kenneth, Jr. and his wife Maureen and Richard and his wife Carol all of Factoryville, David and his wife Mary Beth of Throop and James and his wife Donna of Scranton; a sister Edith Davis of Scranton; a brother Ronald and his wife Lois of Scranton; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Peller; brothers Robert Earl and Elmer.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10am in the Vanston & James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton with services by Rev. Arthur Davis.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-6pm.
Interment, Chase Cemetery, Fleetville.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions be made to the Celtic Hospice and Home Health 100 Williams St. Dunmore, Pa. 18509 or to the Jackson St. Baptist Church 1204 Jackson St. Scranton, Pa. 18504.

Dorothy and family, we were so sorry to read of Kenny’s passing.
